I wanted to give you all a heads up from my recent victory at the NSSA Eastern Championships at New Smyrna Beach, Florida for a press release write up on your website. It took place April 14th-15th.  The University of North Carolina at Wilmington won for the 4th consecutive year in a row for the NSSA Easterns champs. Taking 1st place in the collegiate division was Tony Silvagni a senior at University of Wilmington graduating in two weeks with a bachelors in Business Marketing. Other fellow members on the team, Sean Herman placed 2nd in the Collegiate shortboard, with Nick Rupp placing 4th, and Zack Kenny placing 5th place. Tony Silvagni got edged out in the semi-finals by one place to make the final in the collegiate shortboard division, but was very pleased with his overall performance to contribute to the shortboard UNCW surf team.

The team will be competing out in June for the NSSA Nationals at Salt Creek.  Look out for the power house team that is hungry and wanting to win this NSSA Nationals for the University of North Carolina at Wilmington.

Tony Silvagni recently placed 3rd in the Pro Longboard for Ron Jon Easter Surf Fest in Cocoa Beach, Florida.  Tony Silvagni is starting up his surf school already for the season offering surf camps, surf and stand up paddleboarding lessons, board rentals, and in a few weeks opening up his own surf school business location.  You can follow most of his surf school at www.SURFSCHOOLNC.com

November 21st, 2011 Comments off

Dear Sponsors, friends, and family:

Greetings to you all from Italy. Yesterday, I competed in the Bear Pro World Longboard Championships for the final stop on the tour for the World Longboard Title. I ended up making it to the semi-final, earning an equal 3rd place finish in the event of the top 32 longboarders in the world. Overall for the year, I ended up 6th place on the World Longboard Tour ratings for the 2011 year. This result is my highest rating after competing for 3 consecutive years on the tour. I have now re-qualified for the 2012 World Longboard Tour! I am very grateful for all of your support that you have sent me throughout the year. My next event is December 2nd and 3rd in California for my last competition of the year at the south jetty at Oceanside, California.
You can view photos, videos and results on http://www.aspeurope.com/italy/ I was able to see Florence, Cinque Terre, leaning tower of Pisa, Genoa professional soccer team, cathedrals, bike rides to some of the most beautiful locations around Levanto, surf in the competition at the new location Andora after a 8 day swell waiting period, and make new friends on this trip. Overall for the 2011 year, this has been the biggest year of my surfing career overall being on top for ASP Japan Champion, ISA World Games Champion, ASP North America 1st place- with one event still to take place in December, and 6th in the World Longboard Tour for Association of Surfing Professional.

Thanks for continuing to follow my dream as a kid of being a professional surfer touring the globe learning new cultures and making new friends.

Best Regards,

Tony Silvagni

Check out Tony Silvagni in Levanto, Italy compete in the World Longboard Championships- November 10th-20th.  The surf is completely flat at the moment and the contest organizers are waiting on the next swell to approach Levanto.  Tony has already visited the leaning tower of pisa and Florence to see some of the most beautiful cathedrals around.  Two days prior to the event, there was horrible flooding in the town next to Levanto called Venassa.  Around 25 people were killed by the floods.  Tomorrow is November 15th, 2011 and the surf conditions looks pretty small.  Be sure to find “Tony Silvagni” on facebook to add as a friend to follow most of his posts and videos from his trip.
